Hi I am doing some work on a family members computer e.g. cleaning it
of infections, I have nearly finished tuning it up, but at Microsoft
update I can install all updates except net framework 1.1 sp1 iv tried
installing it manually from the Microsoft website but that didn't
work, iv search Google for suggestions but none of them work,
Any ideas?

I have the same problem; i.e., can't install .NET Framework 1.1 SP1. I've
found several KB articles (922377, 923100) that say to uninstall all .NET
levels and reinstall from scratch.

My urgent question is, is there a way to invoke the .NET 1.1 Uninstall
program other than through the Add/Remove Programs tool? Alternatively, is
there a tool I can download from Microsoft that will uninstall .NET 1.1? I
have the bug with the the XP Pro SP2 ARP Tool that buttons are missing, and
of course, the "remove" button for .NET Framework 1.1 is one of the missing,
so I can't use the ARP tool to uninstall .NET 1.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
