Is the drive you are installing a "known good" drive?
After you set your cmos settings to recognize floppy B
and rebooted, did you go back in and verify that the bios
is seeing the drive? If it is, it will still be listed
there but if it says "not installed" you could have a bad
drive, make sure that your setting saved when you exited
the bios.
If you have a known good drive from another PC try
installing that one. Let us know how it turns out!
