Please be patient...I am new at this. I'm using Frontpage 2002. I am trying
to insert some new pictures on a web. Some pictures are working. And on some
I receive this message:

Server Error: Cannot rename ".Ken Jess Em Easter.jpg.tmp"

The pictures are in a permanent folder. I have moved them to new folders. I
have renamed the picures. When I look up the pictures using Windows Explorer,
they do not have the .tmp tag on the name of the picture. Also they do not
have the "." before the name of the picture.

Thanks for any help!

After your web is opened did you | File | Import and import them into your
open web?

Stacey:

Delete the images from your web and begin again.

There appears to be a dot at the beginning of the image name. Rename the
originals that are located on your hard drive and get rid of the spaces and
capital letters. Such as:
ken_jess_em_easter.jpg

Then, with your FrontPage web open, File | Import the images from the folder
on your hard drive into the images folder in your FP web.

Then, on your page, File | Insert picture from the file/folder in your FP
web, and save. Then, publish your web to the remote server.

Don't edit pix within an FP, folder from outside FP.

Create, edit, manipulate, resize, optimize your images outside of FP with a third party image editor (Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Elements...whatever). When you are satisfied with the image, then IMPORT it into your FP Web...from within FP:
Open FP
Open Web/Site
Select the folder you want to Import into (usually Image folder)...
File | Import
then place your image into your design from there (the folder inside FP where you imported TO)

Remove all spaces from your file and folder names - these can break
links in some browsers.
Check that you have free space on the server - being unable to rename
a file is a sign that you have no space left for your files (though
there could be other reasons.)

"Ken Jess Em Easter.jpg.tmp" is not a valid image (note the .jpg.tmp -
double extension).
