Can't Import/Export Tables

I'm getting a "no modify design permission" error message when I try to
import or export a table from one secured MDB file to another. The strange
thing is that I'm the owner of both databases and have full permissions
(through a group, not my username) to both databases, including "Administer"
permissions. Both databases are accessed via the same workgroup file, and
the ULS security for both databases is the same (users, groups, permissions).
It doesn't matter if I log on to Table A and try to export to Table B, or
log on to Table B and import from Table A... the result is the same "you do
not have modify design permissions for table..." message.

What am I missing here, folks? This one *really* has me stumped!

Regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

This is odd because, by importing or exporting, you're not actually
modifying anything. I've just tried an import and export under the same
conditions and they both worked. Are you sure you're the owner of the
*database* object?

Regards,
Keith.

Yes, it's *very* strange indeed! I checked again and, yes, I'm the db owner
for both databases. I'm still getting this message:

"Could not create; no modify design permission for table or query..." and
then it gives the name of the table. It pops up for each table I've tried to
import or export.

I have confirmed (twice) that I'm the owner of the object. As well, I have
full permissions through the "Developers" group I created. One thing I have
noticed, though, is that the "Developers" group shows the "Administer"
permission checked but, when I look at my cumulative permissions while
viewing my username, the "Administer" permission is *not* checked. The sum
of permissions on both screens is 852222. I wonder if that's part of the
problem?

Anyway, I'd appreciate any additional hints or help you could give me.

Regards, Chris

Have you got Administer permissions to the New Tables/Queries object?
