Cant go home or anywhere when in a site for a long time

Well when i am in a website for a long time and try to click home or a
favorite it will not go to that site. when i close that window or open a new
window from quick luanch or start menu and click home or a link in faovorite
it will open. is there a problem with internet explorer and how can i repair
it. thanks
