Recently purchased Maxtor 160G Ultra ATA drive. Came
with 133 ATA Card that uses 48bit addressing. Drive
will only initialize as a Dynamic Disk and will format as
one large 160G partition. I want to break into smaller
partitions and need to convert the drive to a Basic Disk
to do so. When I use Windows Disk Management and
Right Click on the Unformatted Drive to select "Revert to
Basic Disk" I get an error message from the Logical Disk
Manager "The requested object is in active use, operation
not allowed". I have tried booting to safe mode and
get the same error message. Can not use Partition
Magic 8 with Dynamic Disks.

How do I get this disk to initialize as a Basic Disk?

Help is much appreciated.
