Can't get Windows XP's CD-R writing to work

So... I have a Philips SPD2410L1 and device manager sees it as a SCSI
drive.
Not sure what that is all about.
It is a DVD-RAM as well as a normal DVD drive.
I installed Nero and Nero Burn Rights - setting everyone to be able to
burn.
I followed the instructions here:

and set the correct drive as number two in the registry.
Nothing. I did _not_ install InCD and XP was able to burn to this
exact drive before I upgraded my board and CPU.
So here I am.
What am I doing wrong?
