I have been trying for two days to get the sleep mode to work with my system.
I am running a custom built desktop. My monitor will power off but the
harddrive light will flash every few seconds and all of the case fans are
running. I am 99% sure that the sleep mode was working before I setup media
center. Once I set it up is when I noticed the sleep mode stop working. I
have messed with all of the advanced power settings with no luck. Any ideas?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Apparently MS has a problem with the "sleep" mode.
My computer will shut down (except fan), and when I push start button to
return from sleep mode the dreded blue screen appears. To recover, I have
to do a complete re-boot.

Yeah I finally got it so that it would go into a "true" sleep mode today, no
fans, no nothing running. I had to restore back to prior to setting up media
center and not select the option to let media center optimize for use with an
extender. Now my problem is the thing will never go to sleep on its on. It
is as if something is busy in the back ground so that it cannot sense an idle
state.
