Hello. My problem is, I think, two pronged. First, I had
an nvidia pci graphics adapter installed properly with the
onboard video disabled, everything was fine. Now, I went
to update the video drivers and I read on the nvidia
website that I needed to uninstall "nvidia display
drivers" and I did so, and now when I restart, I get a
black screen. Now the problem is, how do I re-enable my
onboard emachines video so that I can get back the video
needed to restore my graphics card. I have tried switching
in the system setup, agp instead of pci, but to no avail,
also I cant seem to get into safe mode correctly, or I'm
not doing it properly, all I see after I choose a safe
mode option with F8 is a bunch of multi(0)disk(0)rdisk
(partition(1)\windows\system32 driver statements or
something like that and then it just restarts itself and
goes normally into the black screen of windows without
video enabled. My question, is there any way that i can
enable my original vdieo card to reinstall my video
drivers properly, like create a video driver boot disk, or
get into a command prompt from the system startup? I
really dont know what to do, I've tried smitching the
monitor cable from both video cards and switching from pci
preferred to agp but I cant seem to get video back.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using
a newly patched version of XP SP1a.
