I've seen some general solutions offered to voice problems, and will try
those, but haven't seen exactly this problem listed. In case this is a gee
whiz kind of solution, thought I'd post.
My dad's computer is running WinXP home. In trying to video chat with his
son in New Zealand (we're US), he can make a text connection, but no video
or voice. All messages about invitation and acceptance comes through, but
the video connection always "times out" without showing anyone's picture.
We can't see the NZ picture, and they can't see us. This brother has made
his machine work with another family member, so relatively sure its Dad's
problem. His video window comes up, but shows only the WM logo.
I have tried disabling Norton Anti Virus and Norton Internet Security, but
still won't work. He has a DSL connection.
I imagine this is something basic, but I'm unclear where to try next. Any
help is much appreciated. Dad would LOVE to be able to see his son on the
other side of the world.
TIA,
Daniel
