I'm trying to upgrade to SP2 and the windows update site says I already have
it and won't let me download a copy.

Hi

First of all check to see which SP you have installed by running the
following command from Start>Run

winver

That will tell you which SP you are running. If the screen reports that you
are already running SP2, then you don't need to download another copy.

Do not install SP-2 using the Express Installation.
Download SP-2 or order SP-2 on CD, Step 1 on this page:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm

If you still have problems, follow the Service Pack Installation
Checklist on the above link.
