can't get rid of "updates"

getting these "loading updates" which looks like its from MS but isn't must
be spyware or something... have nv and spybot but still getting also..
startup mechanic shows 3 ms update stuff on bootup weird stuff on taskmanger.
let me know if there is a better ng for this... thanks....ray
