It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.

I have a user working with an HP LaserJet 5 printer. When he installed the
printer, he used the latest Windows NT printer driver from HP. That printer
driver is apparently incompatible with Windows XP. We discovered that we
should have used the printer driver that came with Windows XP.
The problem is that we cannot seem to get rid of the HP driver. I have
looked at the files involved and they aren't the ones that came with Windows
XP, so I suspect that the HP driver is the culprit. The HP driver is still
on the list of printers on the manufacturers/models list.
But how to I get rid of the HP drivers? I have gone to File -> Server
Properties and deleted the driver there but it just keeps coming back.
Help!!
Thanks in advance.
