Xbox 360 Elite/LinksysWAG200G Router Modem/3 computer network/all hard wired.

Xbox connected to router with ethernet cable.

All three computers seeing each other ok, online access all ok on computers.

Xbox not seen on any of the computers.

Xbox is working ok with offline profile.

I have been messing with this for in excess of two hours, seemed to have tried every possible configuration and no success.

On the Xbox I go to Network Config and enter my ISP's user name & password and leave the rest as automatic.

That doesn't work so I then manually setup Gateway, IP address and subnet mask from info gained from running ipconfig within Win 7. That doesn't work either.

The Xbox keeps saying there's a MAC address problem but it seems to be a stock answer as I've seen every answer the console provides many times now. In my router setup menu there is no mention of a MAC address anywhere, and the only wireless connection here is my daughter's laptop.

I've been to the Xbox's network help page, done all that. I've tried entering the wireless password instead of my ISP's, no good.

When I try and join Xbox live the router led's flash like crazy but so far, nothing but non-connection.

I also notice sometimes I have to reset the router/modem and reboot computers before my computers can get online again.

I'm at my wit's end and baffled. I never was much good at Internet/Network stuff.

Anybody have any suggestions?

The Mac address on my modem is on the label on the bottom ...

... other than that, I give up.

Flopps, on the Linksys website, there is a specific "help" article which might assist you (if you've not already seen it, that is ) HERE

Hope you can get it up and running okay today, so good luck.

So in the end I took the coward's way out.

Bought a wireless adapter.

Reset all settings to factory default, entered router password, instant connection, painless.

Bit pricey though, the adapter was 40 quid

Line of sight distance is less than 3 metres, so it's a good connection.

But a 5M ethernet cable cost me nothing as I have lots of cable on a reel and I already had a whole bunch of crimp plugs.

Oh well, I'm up and running which is the main thing.

Mate before it gets too late to take it back (if ya wanna)

try changing the MTU setting on your router to to 1364 (minimum setting)

that way if it works and you don't mind a cable you will save yaself 40nicker

Eh? I've already bought the wireless adapter.

All is working well, no probs, I'm happy, albeit 40 quid poorer, but hey - whatever it takes
