Can't get my messages?

I can't get Outlook to download my old messages stored in my Earthlink
account. Only the test message or something that recently comes in will
download to my Outlook? If I delete my account and reinstall it, it will
work, but when I added my wifes email account, it did the same thing?

A new mail profile will redownload everything in the server's Inbox.
