Can't get into Outlook; password worked just ONE TIME, then never

I set up an Outlook 2007 (beta) account and password-protected my .pst files.
I've since downloaded/installed the free trial version of Outlook 2007, and
it won't accept my password. The odd thing is that once, just ONCE, the
password worked -- I got in and assumed the weird problem was somehow fixed.
Nope! I've never been able to open Outlook again. Very frustrating.

I've even spent considerable time mistyping my password, in case that's how
I got in that one magical day, but that's highly unlikely and I've gotten
nowhere. What can I do?
