Jonathan:

Please help!! After signed up to Road Runner by Times
Warner I lost MSN Messenger and Hotmail. I have followed
all of the instructions to reset my password with no
success. I am using Windows XP Professional. Is there
anything else I need to do to reset, disable, or able it
to make it work again?

After I check on Messenger Icon, I am asked to Sign In,
window pops up telling me: Sign In to NET Messenger
Service Failed because the password is incorrect of the
sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten your
password, click HELP in the main window, and then click
Help Topic. I've done that, go to help, and a NET
Passport Member Service pops up. When I click on any of
the items listed in there, it tells me that the page can
not be displayed. Is there any setting I need to change?
I signed up to free HotMail/Messenger many years ago.
What changed?

Thanks, George

Head over to http://register.passport.net/contactus.srf to fill out the form
so that Passport Customer Service can help you reset your password. Good
luck!

Greetings George,

If you're getting the page cannot be displayed message on the Passport site, it sounds like
you may not be able to either connect to the Passport site directly or your PC is having
difficulty with SSL. To test what's going on, try the following link:
https://www.amazon.com

If Amazon comes up, then SSL is fine, if it doesn't come up, then we'll have to go through
some steps to fix it.

Hi George,

Okay than that's the problem. As a quick fix, click Start, then Run, and enter the
following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

Then try again.
