I have for nearly a year have had intermittent problems
with IE. It would work OK and then I had various errors:
Outlook would not work, could not run repair etc. I finally
had to reinstall windows 98 and that in itself is a pain. I
went to using Netscape, but I have McAfee virus scan online
which requires you to use IE to enter their site for
account access or support. Last week IE was working fine,
but yesterday I could not get IE to work. Not really an
error message just the page can not be displayed thing and
server not found. I have deleted cookies, temp files,
uninstalled 5.5 IE and reinstalled 5.5 and then the 6.0
pact but to no avail. I have had several virus scan updates
in the last several days, so I think I am covered. I do
have adaware 6.0 and ran that again yesterday and when it
finds something questionalbe I delete it, so I do not think
I have spyware. I do not know, but this on going problem is
more than a little frustrating and then to have to $35 to
talk to ms support is beyond. I hope someone can help me.

Hi,
Try:
LSP-Fix - a free program to repair damaged Winsock 2 stacks
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

You might still have malware installed. If LSP Fix gets IE back in working
order, do some more scanning.
