Can't get IE FTP to work...

IE hangs every time I click on an FTP hotlink. I found
the kbIE600preSP2fix kbfix kbbug KB823837 fix (which sure
sounds like my issue) and installed it, making sure that
msieftp.dll was properly updated, but to no avail.

This is a non-critical issue which is non-the-less
driving me nuts! Clicking on the identical hotlink in
Netscape works like a champ, and using the HTTP download
link in IE works when it is available.

Any ideas?
