me too I cant get it to work at all
The host 'comcast' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered
the server name correctly.
Subject 'test', Account: 'comcast', Server: 'comcast', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

All of you need to contact Comcast Technical support (or Verizon) and get the correct settings for you Account.
All of you need to start your own posts and not highjack another post, even if you have a similar, but not identical problem.

Well, you have to get the server name correct, for starters....

Wrong server name, wrong port. Follow Comcast's instructions:

For Verizon: http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp

*For Hotmail:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry

*Note: Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail addresses.
So, when you enter your email address initially, give it a fake one,
such as (E-Mail Removed). After the account setup is complete, go back
and correct your email address.

US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail
access only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but
not Yahoo webmail. Yahoo's solution is to pay for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...iew/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-14.html
