I am using Vista Ultimate (fully updated), two western digital Raptors in a
RAID 0 array, and a Plextor PX-740A DVD burner (with current firmware updated
to 1.02). I am using the Vista drivers for my DVD burner and I tried 4.7gig
8x and 16x compatible dvds. I am trying to perform a complete backup of my
system and this is what happens:

I start the complete backup process and choose the DVD drive as my save
point. It asks me to label and insert a disk bigger than 1 gb and asks me to
write a label on the dvd. It tells me I will need 4-6 DVD's. Once the backup
starts it says it needs to format the DVD. I allow it to and then things seem
to be ok until about 25% or so through the green progress bar, it just seems
to sit for a while. Then I get a pop up asking me to label and insert a disk
bigger than 1 gb again, and asks me to write the same label on the dvd. I
don't even know if it started burning at all. I try to open the drive but it
stays shut. I look in device manager and the DVD drive does not show anymore.
I can not access it until I cancel the backup and reboot. Please advise me on
what is going on. Thanks!

Well, I put in a small hard drive to do the backup which worked fine. It is
definetly something to do with the DVD burner and Vista. Oh well, at least I
got the back up completed. If anyone else has had this problem please post it
and with any solutions.
