can't get audio file to movie shaker

I have a Sony VAIO RZ14 - I have music on Sonic Stage I
need moved to Movie Shaker clip tray. Clicking import on
Movie Shaker brings up import dialogue box - everything
I've tried here fails - "file doesn't exist", "not
found", "format cannot be inserted into the clip tray"
results. Same result if I use open box instead of import.
