for xp pro, my lan connects thru a trendnet router, wired, and a foundry
switch, no domain, using workgroup
3 pc's out of 6 don't fully see a 7th/server, in win explorer, the
7th/server shows up in my network places but can't see the shared c drive. i
get 2 msgs that i might not have permissions and path can't be found. the
7th/server has an financial app that requires a mapped drive from the
client pcs. the c:drive on the 7th is networked shared and enabled for users
to change files. from all the pcs that don't see with winexp, i can ping
both the pc name and ip address from cmd line ok. in one pc i put an entry
in lmhosts. the results of nbtstat -c show the 7th/server, but still no go.
have checked and dbl checked but don't see any differences from the pcs that
connect ok and those that don't. any
ideas?????????

What operating system is/are the PCs/server using?

Windows XP Home only allow 5 connections at the same time.

Windows XP Pro has this limit set at 10.
