Help please i have a virus that seems to of fried my dvd writer it redirects from google there is no restore points available!! anyone got any ideas?

Does Norton not pick up this virus?
If not go in to "Safe Mode" during start up & see if you can repair from their?

What cant you format??

Take norton off its rubbish and download anti vir, super anti spyware and malware bytes. Or do a complete format and reinstall. I would go for the format and reinstall.

I'm running xp, norton says it is a trojan.bris and i have followed instructions in safe mode it then says trojan bris is not on your system. i have ran bitfinder aswell, still no joy

Do as Wiz says and you'll get rid of whatever is there...Also try Kaspersky...

Kaspersky online scanner

Download all of them and update them, Run Kaspersky online scanner first...Once that has done, start your computer in safe mode and disconnect from the internet, then run the others that you have downloaded..Fingers crossed you sort your problem out..
