My pc started playing up so I decicided to format my hardrive which I have
done in the past with no problems this time however the windows xp disc
would not install the cab driver and I cant format the drive at all
sometimes its says its not there.

I now get this error

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, OxF7419CAD, OxF79727E4, 0x00000000)

Setupdd.sys -Address F7419CAD base at F73ED000, datestamp 4805277

I have Googled this but am still non the wiser, think I have one sick pc.

Cheers.

Your hard drive may have failed. Go to the website of the hard drive's
manufacturer and download their diagnostic utility. If it fails the test,
replace it.

Did you boot your PC with your WinXP CD? If you did and if you saw the above
error then either your WinXP CD is damaged or your CD drive is flawed.

Using another computer, make a bootable Memtest86+ diagnostic test on
whatever media your failed computer can boot from.

<http://www.memtest.org/>

Alternatively, and using proper ESD precautions, reseat the failed
computer's ram. Or, if you have more than one stick of ram, you /may/
be able to remove one stick at a time.

Googling ram failures will give you lots to read.

I did buy new ram about month or so ago, and this was the first time I have
tried a format since I installed it, so is possible that RAM is failing if
so could I try installing my old Ram, thanks for the advice.
