Hello,

Our work machines were replaced, but our profiles were migrated to the our
new machines. This also included upgrading from Office 2K to Office 2K3.
On my previous machine, I must of had the following files (program.xls,
Post.xls, POSTExcel2k.xla). Now I am getting the following errors when I
start Excel:

c:\program.xls could not be found.
Files\Post.xls could not be found.
Directory\POSTExcel2k.xla could not be found.

I can't figure out how to remove references to these files. Any help
would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I think you may have two problems.

You can get these kinds of errors when you double click on a file in windows
explorer.

Did you start excel by double clicking on:
c:\program files\post\postxl2k.xla

(It would seem weird to me if you did, but...)

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

=========
If that didn't fix the problem, I'd check under Tools|Addins to see if there is
anything checked that looks like this file name.
