I think you may have two problems.
You can get these kinds of errors when you double click on a file in windows
explorer.
Did you start excel by double clicking on:
c:\program files\post\postxl2k.xla
(It would seem weird to me if you did, but...)
Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer:
Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)
--- or ---
Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver
The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

If that didn't fix the problem, I'd check under Tools|Addins to see if there is
anything checked that looks like this file name.
