I am a new Outlook User and in the change over period from Outlook Express
recently lost some incoming emails. Out of the blue I found them yesterday in
my Unread Mail folder, however after opening them to read they have dropped
out of the Unread Mail folder and I can no longer find them anywhere. They
have never appeared in my Inbox - any ideas on where I may find these
messages?

they should be in the inbox. Check the view and make sure its set to show
all messages.

the unread folder is just a virtual folder - the messages aren't actually
moved there - they remain in the original folder.

Thanks Diane. The problem is that they are not in the Inbox now and weren't
in the Inbox prior to me stumbling accross them in the Unread folder. Have
checked the view and is set to show all messages. Initially I was thinking
the problem may be that mail older than a certain date wouldn't show in the
Inbox, but I don't think this would be the case with view set to show all
messages. Don't seem to be in Deleted Items or any other folder. Any other
ideas?

Hold fire...I've found them! The lost messages have popped up in an anti-spam
sub folder in the Inbox folder. Thanks for your help Dianne.

Outlook, of course, has no such subfolder, so perhaps you have some kind of
antispam add-in.
