You may have some database corruption. You can try repairing it (
www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/). Also, you can examine the message store to see if the eml files are actually under the inbox directory (see
www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm and the section on WinMail).
Problems such as this are often caused by antivirus software incompatible with WinMail. See point 3 here:
