I have two pc3200 400 512mb mem modules simple enough right one gig
memory...System Info (My Computer right click Properties : State that I only
have 256 Memory)???? and Yet MSINFO32.exe says I have 1024 I would like to
know if there is a way to make windows accept my real memory or if I am just
screwed by the way I am running a

How many RAM slots on the mobo and which ones are being
used? If you have 4 slots put the RAM in #1 and #3.

Thank you for solid advice no I only have two slots available and I have them
occupied according to the manual with slot 1 as double and slot two as a
single with reference to the ram chips I have installed , Heres one too add
too the puzzle even more win 98 recognizes them both and credits me with the
ram ??? go figure thank you kindly .

I'm sorry but this is unclear to me!! Can you explain?
slot 1 as double and slot two as a single with reference to the ram chips

Also, there must be something wrong with RAM!!
What does BIOS ram count show?

Also, Msinfo32 shows:
Total Physical Memory 1,024.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 41.41 MB
What are you running to have only 41.1 mb available?

Also, what does it show for Total and available in Task Manager?

Maybe test ram with memtest86!!
