I have two items in my history folder that won't go away.
When I go to the search portion of the history part of my
internet explorer and type in any single letter and then
hit search, these two items always come up, no matter how
many times I seem to try to erase them. Has anyone had
this similar problem? Is it a virus, or did they possibly
get into my registry? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Delete the History folder and index.dat:
