New problem today with Outlook 2007 (12.0.4518.1014)
Cannot enter any new text or make changes in New, Forwarded, or Reply
Messages.
In other words, can only effectively receive mail!

What do you mean with "cannot"?
What happens when you try? Any error messages?
Tried it in Outlook Safe Mode already?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe
(note the space in the command)
Have you activated Outlook already?

Note that you are way behind in updating. Service Pack 2 for Office 2007 has
been released already and some additional updates.
