Can't encode chinese characters

Hello everyone! I installed a english version window XP and it can't encode
chinese characters, they all appear to be squares, can anyone help?

You need to install the language files...

In Control Panel open Regional and Language Options. Select Install files
for East Asian Languages and click OK. You'll need your CD to complete the
load. After you reboot you'll have support for the language.
