I use Data Deposit Box online backup service on my Vista Business system.
The Startup type is "All Users Startup Folder".
For close to 7 months now, WD blocks the executable at startup and I have to
manually allow it to run every time I restart my system.
When I use the WD Software Explorer and select the program, the Remove,
Disable and Enable buttons are grayed out. The SpyNet Voting field usually
says "Not applicable". For the first time, it briefly showed "In Progress"
today, but now is not applicable again. Here is a copy of the details that
explorer shows for this program in case it might help someone explain what is
going on:
File Name: startup.exe
Display Name: startup.exe
Description: Not Available
Publisher:
Digitally Signed By: NOT SIGNED
File Type: Application
Link Command: C:\Program Files\Data Deposit Box\Data Deposit Box\startup.exe
-s1
File Path: C:\Program Files\Data Deposit Box\Data Deposit Box\startup.exe

Startup Type: All Users Startup Folder
Location: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Data
Deposit Box.lnk

Ships with Operating System: No
SpyNet Voting: Not applicable
I have gone to the advance options and added the folder where the executable
resides to the Do Not Scan list. WD still blocked it when I restarted.
I am about ready to just turn WD off and rely on other solutions.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
