When i open a file in access it opens automatically to the database and i
cant edit it or enable macros or do anything with it. All it gives me is the
home screen to the database and i cannot click on any buttons without it
saying the macros arent enabled, but it doesnt give me any options to enable
them.

What version of Access?

What is the extension on the database file: .mdb, .mde, accdb, or something
else.

Sounds like you are using a shortcut to get to the database. In the
properties of the shortcut, what does the Target say?

Try opening the database while holding down the Shift key.
