Can't Drag and Drop with FP2000?

I'm using FP2000 (SP-3) on a Win98SE computer.

I can drag and drop images INTO a FP directory, but it won't let me drag and
drop and image from a FP directory to my local computer - instead, it
creates a shortcut. I've tried Copy, but Paste will only let me create a
shortcut.

This is a royal inconvenience. Please, how can I fix this???

Can't do it in any version of FP...all you're gonna get is the link, even if
you Paste into an image editor...you just get the link.

Why do you need to do this anyway? You should be editing your images outside
of FP..resize, optimize, rename, etc. outside of FP then Import into FP. You
always have working copy that way.

If you really need to do this, another way is to Export them from FP to an
outside folder...you could do batches this way.

Correct, you have to export the images from FP back to your desktop.

If you are copying the image to a folder outside of your web and not moving
it within the web, you could drag and drop with Windows Explorer. It's
generally not recommended to touch a web with Explorer, but in this case, it
should not cause any harm... as long as you are only copying it outside the
web and not copying, deleting, or moving it within the web or from one web
to another..

I just tried it and it worked. I forgot to mention that you have to drag
with the right button (minor detail) , and then you get the options: move
here, copy here, create shortcut here.

Yep, I can do File > Export. But this won't let me select multiple files.

For multiple files, I'm forced to open the web with an FTP client (not a
prob if I'm just exporting).

Thanks!

Correct, you can only export one file at a time in FP2000, not sure about newer versions of FP.
