can't drag and drop files

Hello,
I have a problem I have tracked down to perhaps a motherboard on its way out. I just reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled windows 2000 pro. At first everything seemed to be fine. But the next mornining it would not let me drag and drop any files.

This and some memory errors is what caused the reformating. But my other harddrive I have that I do not use online doesn't seem to have the problem. I have SP3 and norton anti-virus on both hardrives.
