Can't drag and drop email to folders in 2007

I just installed Office 2007 and can't drag and drop email message into my
folders. I get a error stating the message can't be moved because it was
either already moved, deleted or access was denied.

Describe exactly how you created your mail profile and how you connected
your data store to that profile.

Hi Bill,

I didn't do either one of these things - at least not knowingly.

I just updated from 2003 so I expect it took whatever I had before.

We just went through a simliar issue with archiving in our 2007
installations. Aftyer several weeks of trouble shooting, our IT engineers
discovered a setting in the install scripts which made the new folders,
including archive folders, read only-- Outlook 2007 could not write files to
them.
I was not advised of the exact fix, but it did require reinstallation using
a different install script.

I realize this does not solve your issue, but may trigger a new thread of
discussion which will lead to a solution.

Good thought but I tried creating a new folder thinking that it would be
properly configured yet I can't drag and drop to the newly create folder
either.

I like the idea of a configuration setting on the folder or a directory
level setting that needs to be changed. I can't find an appropriate toggle.

Sounds like a corrupted mail profile. create a new one, add the existing pst
file to it and see if that helps.

It is always a good idea when upgrading versions to start with a new mail
profile. See this:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm . If you're using a PST and
your PST is an ANSI PST (Outlok 87-2002 format), it is also a good idea to
switch to a Unicode PST. WHt type of account have you created?

That should say "Outlook 97-2002"
