Hi...

There is a virus in my computer. I am convinced about that.
I cannot download anything concerning updates to Ad-Aware or Spybot.
I cannot download anything at all from Microsoft.com like the Outlook
Connector or anything else I've tried.
Neither can I download the afore mentioned files from these sites with FF3,
Google Chrome or Opera 9.26.

When browsing using IE8, I get a message stating that a pop up has been
prenvented. Even on my own web pages where there is no pop up at all.

Something is preventing me from downloading anything that I can use to
remove it!?!?!

I need help...

Tried Bitdefender's online scanner and even that couldn't update it
definition file.

What is wrong, and how can I get rid of it?

Hello Øyvind :-)

I'm wearing my other hat today (posting from Google Groups instead of
Outlook Express, but I'm still ~BD~)

I had to laugh when I found this comment of yours posted elsewhere:-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm glad I am a Norwegian bloke, 'cause we're perfect i every way! ;-)
We're filthy rich.
We've got oil. We've got money in the bank.
Iceland is broke and we buy their bank cheap now.
We all got SUV's.
Gas is cheap, and our measuring system adds up.
We also eat whales.
A thousand years ago we ruled the world controlling areas like England
and
Ireland.
Northern Europe, with Normandie.
We've run business in trade and warfare all the way from Scandinavia
through
Novgorod to the Black Sea.
We discovered America four hundred years before Chr. Columbus did.
We run merchaneries missions in Istanbul.
The romans feared us!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

No wonder you are not afraid when Mr Lipman smacks your hand for being
naughty (failing to carry out his instructions!) Haha!

Out of interest, did you make your first post (the one to which I'm
replying) in the 'alt.comp.anti-virus' group for a specific reason? I
wonder why you didn't stay too persue matters but instead posted your
cry for help in the 'microsoft.public.security.virus' group (where I
responded to you ........ and had my hand smacked too!)

Warm regards (you'll need them now in Norway!)

Dave (from Devon, England)

PS Mr Peter Foldes thinks I must be a Viking as I own a narrowboat
(he confuses with a Longboat!)

I've found my message! Maybe I simply mis-set the 'follow-on'
instruction.

We'll see!

Dave

Hmmm!

I wonder if someone can explain to me how/why my posts - which were made in Google Groups - have ended up in this forum.

Any help/advice will be much welcomed!

Dave

There you are... on news.broadpark.no ...
I didn't check that because I didn't start the thread there....

Well, anyhow... I am still plundering...
I stopped the procedure of running all those antivirus software from Sophos
and so forth .. hehehe it rimes :-)
Sophos was gnawing on the twelfth hour, and seemed would go on forever. And
then after that, three more virus killers should go through the same files
again... yaaawn... "Mucho trabacho agotador para mio máquina calculadora
caro" as the Turks says when they speak Spanish...
I will now plunge my way into the net and sneak around until I can find a
plausible solution, try it and then continue my quest
