First, with regard to DVD-RW, you need third party software to write to such
disks as XP's built in function does not currently support DVD burning.
In the case of the CD-RW, if you are trying to save or drag and drop
directly to CD, this is known as
packet writing and XP does not support that function natively. This
requires third party software such as the Direct CD component of Easy CD
Creator,
www.roxio.com or the InCD component of Nero,
www.nero.com.
Check the web sites for version compatibility with XP as well as compatible
CD-Writers.
