I cant download Live Messenger or MSN Messenger 7.5. Half way through a
splash screen is displayed which states:

" IE cannot download Install_Messenger_* from download.microsoft.com. IE
was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either
unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. "

I suspect this could be a problem due to the pop-up blocker, although no
blocked message is indicated in the status bar (as i cant turn off pop-up
blocker in IE / tools. After selecting turn off pop-upblocker it immediately
reverts to on.)

Any ideas please? I am logged on with admin rights and have Windows Firewall
temporarily disabled.

I think MS has redone their download page, possibly using Flash, as I tried
over the weekend with w2000 pro and xp pro and got the same error, but when I
turned off the flash blocker and popup blocker, I was able to get the website
although not all of it, some parts were still blocked, either that or they
are having some problems with their servers.
