I've got a Dell Latitude D600 running XP Pro SP 2. I have an issue
with my display (the display - that is, the on-screen information, not
the physical screen - would no longer rotate, which understand is a
problem with the ATI and Catalyst drivers).

I manually created a system restore point, uninstalled my ATI video
driver, and installed an Omegea video driver. No go, so I went to
restore back to the point I created. Also no go!!

Is there a solutin for this? Or do I just need to go back through a
whole 'nother round of uninstall/reinstall?? (This time with
downloaded Dell drivers!!)

Norton products (among other things) can thwart a System Restore.

Something along the lines of:

Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . .


Does that sound like your environment?

No - I don't have Norton. I use ZoneAlarm, PC Tools AntiVirus, and
Spyware Terminator - all the free ones. I don't get any Incomplete
messages - just "can't make this happen."
