Can't do a search in Outlook 2007 (Instant search encountered aproblem while trying to display search results)

I'm getting this error when I try to do a search, ""Instant search
encountered a problem while trying to display search results"

Below this it says "Search results may be incomplete because items are
still being indexed. Click here for more details."

When I click on this a pop up says, "254 items remaining in the
'personal folders.'" Then below that it says "254 items remaining
across all open mailboxes." I don't know how to index these.

I've tried all I could. I'm hoping someone can help me. Thanks a lot.
