Can't delete temporary files from network share

I have some temporary files that are being created on a Win2K server network
share by MS Office that I am not able to delete. These files are preceded by
~$ (example: ~$visiofile.vsd, ~$wordfile.doc). It gives me the appearance of
being deleted and then a few seconds later they reappear.
