Sorry for this question on Windows xp new group, but I don't know where to go.
I install a new hard drive, I used Acronis ture image on my old drive, after
restoring the new drive all my microsoft icons were gone, I have fixed all
the rest by reinstalling the programs, but office xp pro will not reinstall
and I can't delete it either, I don't know how to go in and remove individual
files. Microsoft word will work but only after it tries to reinstall it self,
I click cansel and after about 1 minute it will finally pop up, I even tried
to delete & reinstall in safe mode but nothing works.

I have and use Office XP Pro also and you should be able to go to Control
Panel>Add/Remove Programs and choose
Uninstall from there. It may ask if you want to repair but I would go
ahead and uninstall it. Restart after it's finished and
then try reinstalling. Hopefully you have the original Office XP CD.

Have you tried Detect & Repair from the Help drop down menu?

:Grayeeagle2000" - I cannot really help - but some time ago I had the same
problem with Office and icons. the problem was with Windows Installer and
if I remember correctly there was a support article on Microsoft Knowledge
database which detailed solution.

I went to another microsoft offoce xp news group and there was a post
involving deleting some office xp reg. enteries and that did the trick,
office xp reinstalled and is working grate, thanks to all
