I am having a problem deleting some of my emails that have attachments with
them. I click on the delete and then it says that this item could not be
deleted. I haven't had this problem before. Any reason why this is happening
and how I can fix it??

No idea on either since you have not provided your Outlook version nor the exact error message.

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

Have you tried right-clicking on the email and using Delete from the
resulting menu?
Please provide your version of Outlook, your email environment (Exchange,
POP3), and if you use a PST please provide the size.
If you use a PST, have you tried repairing it?
