I exported some emails from a non unicode PST file to a unicode one.

No I can't close the old datafile and get a popup: ''The operation failed.
An object could not be found.''

I am used to managing my PST files, but now I am stumpped!

Thanks.

I need to add the folders do not appear in the Outlook Data File Management,
but I can browse thru them!

If I look at the properties, I get the same popup if I try to go in
Advanced...

And if, with OL closed, you use the mail applet in Control Panel to remove
the data file?
I assume the unicode one is set as the default msg store?

The ''physical'' PST file I can move, rename etc...

I still can see the folder in outlook, altough it is no mapped in the data
file management.

You've lost me
Can you remove the old data file using the mail applet?

I should have added, if its not visible in the mail applet then its probable
that the Profile is corrupt, and as such you would need to create a new one
and add the correct data file, together with your accounts

Thank you, this is probably the nedded action.

I don't like it, I have 9 email accounts to re enter.

Copying the profile obviously did not work.

Outlook 2003 is not very stable with quasi continuous datafile corruptions
and hang-ups.

If you have a corrupt Profile copying it will recreate the problem
You are using a unicode data file, and not one from an earlier version of
OL?
Data file corruption, if thats what you are refering to, can be caused by
third party tools that have a hook into OL, or by HD problems or other hw
problems. Incorrectly adding / removing data files will also cause problems

This started while migrating from non unicode file version.

You copy data from old to new, ie both data files open within OL
