Cant delete files in use

When it says "file in use", i need to know WHAT program is using that
file!!!!! Simple as that.

The Process Explorer is well over his head. He will get a headache and a
heat stroke if he sees the open window.

Thank you. however I think this should be part of windows vista. And the
message that says "file in use" should also say by WHICH program, and have a
button to end that program.

I agree, it would be nice if they incorporate this tool into the next
version of Windows. It is actually a tool from Sysinternals, a company that
Microsoft bought only recently, way too late to consider including it with
Vista. Process Explorer does have the capability of killing the process or
application for each of the threads it reveals.

Seems like the ONLY way Microsoft can make any gains in the innovation
department is to buy it. :-(
