When my outlook locked up I took it to a local shop. WHen I got it back my
inbox was not active and I had a "recovered" folder doing that function.
After months of working on it I got my inbox working again but I cannot
delete, or move files from the Recoved folder that are dated beyond the date
of the work, over 1,000 messages. HELP!

Sounds like your pst-file is/was heavily corrupted. At this point I would
recommend to start with a new pst-file and copy the contents over to the
newly created pst-file.
