Hi,
I used Partition Magic to merge two partitions J & K.The K Partition was named as a folder "Ghost" on my Jartition.
It had 40 GB in it from two of my Win XP backup recovery sets.

When I went tried to access the folder on my External HD it said Access denied and also the folder was empty. "J:\Ghost
0 bytes".
Since this folder seems to be corrupt I would like to delete it and use the name again for my backups.

How do I delete that Ghost folder that has access denied and won't let me delete it even at the cmd. prompt with RD /S?
I even tried Safe Mode and Safe Mode Command Prompt and can't delete this folder.

I tries the arrrib command to see if I could change the attributes but all I got was J:\Ghost.

Have a good day,

Boot from a Dos or recovery console and delete that folder.

I lost my recovery console when I did a clean install.
I had a ntsfboot disk and used the deltree command but it said the Ghost folder couldn't be deleted cause there were
problems and had to run scandisk.
Since I don't have that I ran chkdsk /f and it found no errors.

Is there anything else I can do?
