Can't defrag .fmc files?

Hello!

Just wondering if it there's something to do about this. The .fmc files are in the System Volume Information and obviously not reachable (se log below). It's probably unwise to temper with them anyway but if I'm not to delete them is there a way around this? Files that can't be defragged usually stops the rest of the defragmentation to my experience!

Percent MFT in use = 79 %
Total MFT fragments = 3

Welcome to the forums

You can delete them if you really want, by deleting your system restore points... but I really wouldn't recommend doing that.

I wouldn't worry if defrag can't derfag those two files, as I don't see why it would prevent others files from being defragmented (unless there was little space left) and it doesn't matter if two rarely used files are fragmented really.

You could always give an alternate defrag application a try and see if that gives you better results. This one is free to use:
